How many syllables does the Spanish word "qui�reme" have?

I am setting a poem with this word to music, and I don't speak Spanish, so I'm not sure if I should give the first "qui" a syllable or not. Is it more of a "kyeh-reh-me", or a "kee-eh-reh-me". I've already set it the latter way, but with the "qui" being a shorter length than the rest of the word in the sung part, and I am hoping this won't sound strange to a native speaker!
